It is the sixth month, when all things flourish in splendor. At the dawn of midsummer, sunlight pours over the Jiugushui Hot Spring Scenic Area, where distant mountains wear a dark, elegant hue and the springs murmur softly—here, poetry and safety converge, and responsibility and mission resonate in harmony. At 2:30 p.m. on June 11, the thematic speech contest marking the 25th National “Work Safety Month,” hosted by Guizhou Asilixi Tourism Development Co., Ltd. and organized by Guizhou Asilixi Hot Spring Tourism Operation & Investment Co., Ltd., kicked off at the picturesque and culturally rich Jiugushui Hot Spring Scenic Area. Eighteen contestants from diverse roles gathered to discuss the path to safety and underscore the weight of responsibility through their speeches.

This was a feast of ideas and, even more so, an awakening of the soul. Eighteen contestants, representing eighteen roles, brought to life eighteen distinct voices—each vividly embodying a different facet of safety. Among them were information security professionals safeguarding the integrity of cyberspace; meticulous financial analysts who nip problems in the bud; frontline operators racing against the wind and confronting danger high above on aerial ropeways; and lifesavers who brave the currents to rescue others in aquatic emergencies. With heartfelt stories, they sparked resonance; with profound reflections, they provoked thoughtful inquiry; and with poetic expression, they conveyed warmth. On stage, their words were rich with emotion; in the audience, breaths held in rapt attention—every speech drew listeners into the scene, evoking deep empathy. Through every line, the audience came to understand that safety is not a cold, rigid constraint, but a warm kind of freedom; not a burdensome chore, but the shortest path home; not a slogan hung on the wall, but a conscious, everyday practice woven into the very fabric of life.

What is safety? In the words of our team members, it is the time-honored wisdom of “preventing trouble before it happens,” a survival maxim passed down from our ancestors; it is the vivid embodiment of the principle that “a gentleman anticipates danger and takes precautions,” a closed-loop system linking policy to execution; it is a safety culture rooted in “mutual support when entering and leaving, and watchful assistance in times of need”—the simplest yet most steadfast commitment between people. It lies in every step taken during routine inspections, embedded in the fine print of every operating procedure, and found in a gentle reminder, a meaningful glance, or an unwavering resolve.
Following the presentations, the five judges offered insightful feedback on each contestant, highlighting their strengths while also providing constructive, practical guidance. The judges emphasized that safety speeches are not merely a contest of eloquence; they are a reflection of one’s sense of responsibility and serve as a vital vehicle for embedding and rooting a safety culture. With genuine emotion and vivid real-world examples, the contestants transformed the principle of “safety first” from an abstract concept into something tangible, relatable, and actionable.

The successful organization of this event not only served as a concentrated platform for disseminating the company’s safety philosophy but also provided a powerful impetus to the development of its safety‑oriented corporate culture. By fostering a culture of safety and translating awareness into action, the initiative has further strengthened the safeguards for safe production and solidified the foundation for the enterprise’s sustainable safety‑driven growth. More importantly, the event seamlessly integrated safety themes with cultural tourism, weaving together poetic inspiration and the allure of natural springs to infuse Hezhang’s high‑quality cultural and tourism development with fresh meaning, propelling it to new heights and achieving unprecedented progress.
